I love to custimize, but don’t need another service of this type in my life. You really have to pick and choose what is important with so many options out there. I do like the way you can share your set up with others using Page Flakes.

Wiki Wiki Wiki :Thing 8
Wikis are interesting and of coarse very useful for the right thing? Although I enjoy many Wikis I do not think that I will be maintaining one in my near future. I have taken the time to visit a few and the differences have been extreme in some cases. Based on design and flow alone you can tell a lot about the quality of a Wiki. The best educational Wiki I found this summer was of course Nintendo’s Wiki. How could I prepare to know my students any better? This is a power house Wiki with loads of good design and awesome information. Another strong Wiki is “Room 202′s Digital Art Wiki.” This wiki site is created and edited by a Bonita Vista High School Computer. The class is about art, not technology. Their pages are very nice and they run their department through this Wiki. It looks like a lot goes into it to make it run. The third Wiki I checked out was Yale University’s Art home page – how cool is that! Students and faculty alike can make changes when they would like. The Wiki itself is packed with great information and it keeps evolving and representing Yale Art.
Write a blog post reflecting: Thing 7a
The most inspiring thing off the Nitendo RSS – Introducing Wii MotionPlus, Nintendo’s upcoming accessory for the revolutionary Wii Remote. Nintendo’s upcoming Wii MotionPlus accessory for the revolutionary Wii Remote controller again redefines game control, by more quickly and accurately reflecting motions in a 3-D space. The Wii MotionPlus accessory attaches to the end of the Wii Remote and, combined with the accelerometer and the sensor bar, allows for more comprehensive tracking of a player’s arm position and orientation, providing players with an unmatched level of precision and immersion. Every slight movement players make with their wrist or arm is rendered identically in real time on the screen, providing a true 1:1 response in their game play. The Wii MotionPlus accessory reconfirms Nintendo’s commitment to making games intuitive and accessible for everyone. Nintendo will reveal more details about the Wii MotionPlus accessory and other topics Tuesday morning at its E3 media briefing.
Getting Started with RSShing: Thing 5
RSS to the rescue! I love receiving good information from the horses mouth and that is precisely what an RSS reader does for me. Right now my favorite feed is “Nikon Press Center – Cameras”. I am a camera junky and this is my fix.
Blogging Begins with Reading :Thing 4
What I have noticed about the genre of blog writing itself is it tends to be more casual. I think that is what I like about it as well; it seems to be less intimidating. Blog writing is different from other types of writing because it can generate an instant response that can move the direction of future posts and the blog. It is similar because it like other forms of writing gets information out there to the people. Commenting contributes to the writing and meaning-making by serving as a driving force behind deeper investigation of the subject. I believe blogging can facilitate learning simply by exiting. The moment someone published their data someone else can read it. Hopefully it is good stuff worth reading because their is a lot of junk out their. I really enjoyed “Patrick’s Update: 5th Grade“This post was written by an at-risk fifth grader who struggled with writing and school success in general. I thought it was very inspiring. Visit if you get a chance.

THE LAST THING 23
Wow…is it really over? This has been a long one. A pretty good one, but a long one at that. What’s next for me and technology? I am really interested in keeping a rolling blog that is aimed at my students and the art experiences we have shared together with lots of their images. I want to combine that with what I am working on in my studio at home to help bring us closer together. Looking back over the class one of the things I have utilized was Delicious. After years of losing the bookmarks of treasured research I have finally found a safety net. Thanks for the good connections and information on WEB 2.0 – enjoy the rest of your summer everyone!
Social Networking in Education & Ning: Thing 22 (Week 10)
Ning is awesome if you have the time to get sucked in. The groups are endless and the information is deep if you need it. I found many different Art groups. In fact almost every art media I typed in returned a hit for a related group. Everyone including my students could make use of this type of network. A great idea I have is to create a social network for Art teachers across the world to share ideas and lectures. On a side note – I even found answers to questions I had about my motorcycle. I was excited to find a group dedicated to my particular bike – the Suzuki SV650. “If you ride an SV then you know what I’m talking about! Network about mods, tech tips, talk about your ride or just talk about riding!” Here is a link I got sucked into for about 45 minutes on engine stuff – http://sv650ride.ning.com/.
The whole idea around the Internet is to make life tasks easier for its users. Simply, social networking sites make being social easier in today’s busy times. I have been a member of both Myspace and Facebook for about a year now and have made about fifty contacts from my past that I would have otherwise never made. Along with these contacts have come opportunities that I would have missed as well. Of the two sites mentioned I have preferred the Facebook application. In my opinion it’s interface is more clean and easier to read, follow and participate.
Blog about something interesting: Thing 7c
Wow – the reader is full of info! Where do I start sorting? Well one of the most exciting things to come across the reader was Aprilia‘s NEW SCARABEO 125/200
The result of brilliant intuition by Aprilia, Scarabeo has withstood the test of time by adapting to change and incorporating the latest technology. Over the years Scarabeo has grown in engine size, with new models introduced to satisfy diverging needs. Deep down, however, Scarabeo remains faithful to the original concept behind its amazing success. In brief, Scarabeo remains a trend-setter.
Over 750,000 Scarabeo have been sold since 1993, to tame inner city traffic, dominate urban ring roads and carry their riders with natural elegance and unmistakable style.
The inspiration remains the same. Giuseppe Ricciuti, the father of Scarabeo, is the man behind this latest model too. The new 125/200 conserves all the usual classic and modern style emblems, decisive features and smooth lines in an instantly harmonious continuity. Once again Scarabeo has redefined urban scooter design. Yet in a world of throw-away fashions, Scarabeo’s reassuring lines are a welcome constant. With one-in-a-million looks, Scarabeo lets you live the city in true elegance. The 125/200 lives up to its

Google Docs: Thing Twenty
I have used Google Docs before. However, I never really grasped it until now. Documents with emails, rather than emails with attachments – brilliant. Three great uses for Google Docs are 1) simple messages to particular masses of people 2) on going class notes from lectures 3) wish lists, supply lists, things that we need lists.

Evoca podcasting: Thing 18
Here is my fresh podcast using Evoca! Seriously, it is more like a test – testing one, two, three only with a little art commentary. Evoca is easy to use and fun to send to people. I have been using it to send voice messages to my loved ones. I have not used it in conjunction with Skype to record, but I am planning to try it.
